If Only I Had More Time 🙁

And these are harder ones we should address

As a freelancer, I wish days lasted 9 hours longer, so I could get more done and have more time for my hobbies.

But after reflecting on my relationship with time, I came to realize there’s no point in getting frustrated about having only 24 hours available.

What I perceive as a lack of time is often the result of one or more of the following:

  1. Being overambitious about what I can accomplish in a day. No wonder I’ll run out of time before finishing everything I want to finish.
  2. Not realizing that the thing I say I don’t have time for isn’t actually in my list of priorities. It’d be cool to learn French, but…
  3. Mistakenly thinking that — on any given day — no task should be left unfinished. I must get everything done by 6 pm. Bro, no! Who told you that?! Relax!
  4. Having to deal with the unexpected and the unavoidable. The computer has always worked, but today it needs a few punches in the face. Life gets in the way. My cat pukes on the bed.
  5. Getting distracted. Why did I open WhatsApp? Why? Whyyy? Now I have to reply, and I don’t know what to say!
  6. One of the three Ps: Perfectionism, Procrastination, and Pasta al Pesto — three big enemies of P…P…Productivity.
  7. Believing that I have time.

One of my favourite blog posts by Seth Godin is only 11 words long, title included.

You don’t need more time
…you just need to decide.

Love it.

That said, tomorrow, when I realize I don’t have enough time, will I still get frustrated?

Yes. 🤣
