Creating on Autopilot

When I go for a run, I sometimes get so caught up in my thoughts that I almost forget I’m running.

I even stop paying attention to the little pains in my muscles and the fatigue seems to disappear, too.

Then, when I “wake up,” I notice I’ve covered a few kilometres without even realising it.

It’s as if I were on autopilot.

The dictionary definition of “to be on autopilot” is “to do something without thinking because you have done the same thing many times before.”

Could we create on autopilot?

Instead of overthinking, worrying about outcomes, or doubting our creative abilities, we sit and create, sit and create, sit and create until creating becomes second nature.

You do it so many times that the frustrations, fears, pains, and tensions you carry with you suddenly disappear.

And maybe, when you “wake up,” you’ll notice you’ve made more progress than you thought.
