The Best Thing That Can Happen to Me When Reading a Book

Stop the wipers and observe those drops

The best thing that can happen to me when reading a book is to come across an idea that sparks a new thought.

When that happens, I must stop reading because I don’t want to lose that thought. I want to explore it. If I don’t, the next line on the page might wipe it off my mind like wipers remove raindrops from a windshield.

So I need to turn off the wipers and look closely at that one drop.

What’s it like? What’s inside it? Where is it going? What other drops does it connect with?

It’s my favourite thing to do when reading.
